Weathervane

January 12, 2017

A weathervane ornament designed and built in the Mariposa Bicycles workshop by Mike Barry, Sr. It is a scaled down (.62) version of the owner's Mariposa road bicycle. Constructed with copper plumbing tubing, a handmade crankset, Specialités TA chainrings, hand-built wheels, Moulton 17” rims and washing machine hose for tires. This weathervane will be placed on a historic home in Connecticut where Albert Einstein spent his summers. _IGP1609 _IGP1614 _IGP1625 _IGP1623 _IGP1622 _IGP1596 Photography by Walter Lai IMG_0487 The weathervane is a scaled down (.62) version of it's owner's twin Mariposa road bicycles. 0B0D6F8F-F1D1-40DE-A19D-E536C73AA8ED Perspective on the scale of the weathervane, as it is placed in front of a 55 cm Randonneur bicycle.
