Refund policy

We thank you for your interest in the products we sell and hope that you are happy with every purchase you make.  We do our best to make sure that your order is delivered completely, in a timely fashion and undamaged, although we know unforeseen circumstances can arise.  If you are not 100% satisfied with the product(s) you purchased and would like to either return or exchange them, the instructions below describe how to properly do so.  If there is an issue with the product that would be considered a warranty issue, please consult the manufacturer’s warranty policy.

Returns:

  • Returns are only allowed for purchases made directly from mariposabicycles.ca.
  • Returns are allowed within 30 days of order shipment. Item(s) must be unused and in original packaging and will receive a refund or if preferred by the customer, store credit will be given in the form of an electronic Gift Card.
  • Customer is responsible for return shipping charges, customs fees and duties of all non-warranty returns.
  • Returns will be processed within 4-7 days of when the item(s) are received; the receipt for the order and/or the order confirmation (sent via email at time of purchase) must be included with the return package.
  • Sales of factory seconds, damaged packaging, pre-used, media samples or similar are FINAL and may not be returned or exchanged.
  • Items discounted or on sale are FINAL sale and cannot be returned.

Exchanges:

  • Exchanges are only available for purchases made directly from mariposabicycles.ca, any purchases made from another retailer must be returned according to that source’s protocols.
  • All exchanges must be sent back within 30 days of receiving the order, shipping confirmations sent via email.
  • Exchanges will be processed within 4-7 days of when the returned item(s) are received,
  • The receipt for the order and/or the order confirmation (sent via email at time of purchase) must be included with the return package.
  • Customer is responsible for shipping, customs and duty charges of all non-warranty exchanges.
  • Once the item(s) are received and processed the exchange will be confirmed via email with the receiving party and the new item will be sent in place of the original.

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations are only applicable for purchases made directly from mariposabicycles.ca, and must be made prior to shipment. Any cancellation requests after shipment will need to follow our Returns or Exchanges protocol.

Items must be returned to the address below with a copy of the receipt for the order and/or order confirmation provided by Mariposa Bicycles.

MARIPOSA BICYCLES WARRANTY

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Mariposa handcrafted bicycle. Mariposa Bicycles are proudly and carefully made wholly in Canada by Bicycle Specialties Ltd. (“Mariposa”) in our workshop at 45 Cranfield Road, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M4B 3H6.

LIFETIME WARRANTY

We’ve worked together with you to design and handcraft your new Mariposa specifically for you. Your 100% satisfaction with your Mariposa is our goal, both on delivery and for a lifetime. Accordingly, Mariposa warrants to the original owner that this Mariposa bicycle’s frame and Mariposa branded steel fork, if part of frameset, when new, is free of defective materials and workmanship.

This lifetime limited warranty is conditional upon the bicycle being operated under normal conditions and use, and properly maintained. This limited warranty does not apply to third-party components attached to the bicycle frame/frameset (including  wheels, drivetrain, brakes, seatpost, handlebar and stem) which components are the responsibility of the manufacturer and covered under their warranty (if one exists) This warranty does not transfer to subsequent owners of this bicycle.

FITTING & ADJUSTMENT

Within one year after purchase of your Mariposa bicycle, provided it was assembled and painted by Mariposa, you may return it to us for fitting, adjustments and any required service at no cost.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS

This Limited Warranty is made on new Mariposa bicycles and framesets purchased directly from Mariposa. In order to exercise your rights under this limited warranty, the bicycle or frameset must be presented to Mariposa, together with a proof of purchase. Should this bicycle, frameset or any part be determined by Mariposa, in its sole discretion, to be covered by this warranty, it will be repaired or replaced, at Mariposa’s sole option, which will be conclusive and binding. Under no circumstances does this limited warranty include the cost of travel or shipment to and from an authorised Mariposa dealer. Such costs, if any, shall be borne by the owner. This limited warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear: including without limiting, scratches or other damage to the paint and/or graphics, or corrosion, nor to claimed defects, malfunctions or failures that result from abuse, neglect, improper assembly, improper maintenance, alteration, collision, crash or misuse. This bicycle or frameset has not been designed, engineered, distributed, manufactured, or retailed for use in trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain, including without limiting, curbs and potholes, riding in severe climates, riding with heavy loads, use with stationary trainers, commercial activities, or any similar activities; such use may damage the bicycle, can cause serious injury to the rider, and in all cases will void this warranty.

THIS IS AN INTEGRATED AND FINAL STATEMENT OF MARIPOSA’S LIMITED WARRANTY.  MARIPOSA DOES NOT AUTHORISE OR ALLOW ANYONE TO EXTEND ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, FOR MARIPOSA. NO OTHER REPRESENTATION, AND NO STATEMENT OF ANYONE BUT MARIPOSA, INCLUDING A DEMONSTRATION OF ANY KIND BY ANYONE SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THIS BICYCLE OR FRAMESET. ALL OF THE REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO THE OWNER ARE STATED HEREIN. MARIPOSA LIMITS ITS LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY TO THE AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE AND IN NO EVENT SHALL MARIPOSA BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

DISCLAIMER

All other remedies, obligations, liabilities, rights, warranties, express or implied are excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law. If any provision of this warranty is found unenforceable, only that provision shall be stricken and all others shall apply.
