Big Bay Pebble Beach
Dickson Bou, of N Plus One Cycle Shop in London, Ontario, and artist, Heather Carey on a Bruce Peninsula trip – a four day loop starting and ending in Owen Sound.
We rode along the coast up to Cypress Lake and camped every night in Provincial, National and private parks. We rode on mixed terrain, paved, gravel, dirt, rail trails and old fire roads. It’s a great trip and full of beautiful scenery.

Route information:
Starting in Owen Sound, they took Highway 1 all the way up to Wiarton along the coast to Tobermory. 1 is quiet and has a good shoulder to ride on. From Wiarton they took highway 9 up to Lions head. From there they took Isthmus Bay Rd, 40 hills road which turns into E rd. Turned left on Dyers bay Rd. For some rougher stuff, they turned right onto Shouldice lake Rd. Shouldice brought them to Highway 6, just farther north.
From Tobermory they went back down highway 6 till they hit Ira lake Rd – a nice gravel road that leads to Stokes Bay where it becomes Stokes Bay Rd. They continued and it turns into West rd. Turned right on Holdenville Rd then left onto Huron Rd which turns into Bryant St, take a right on Oliphant way and avoid highway 13. Take a left onto Bay St. Then a left on S Oliphant Rd. It exits onto highway 13, where they went south to Sauble falls province park. They got off 13 and turn right on to Sauble Falls Rd. It turns into Lakeshore Blvd and you go along the beach. Hop back onto 13 and turn left on Silver Lake Rd. They took that until they passed Side Rd 5 and took the entrance to a rail trail. They rode the rail trail all the way to Owen Sound.
