After three week long training camps in Mallorca, we’re ready to race. In the second half of January our training sessions were designed to simulate the races with hard intense efforts, motorpacing, team time trial training, sprint lead-outs, and hours of climbing. Here are some photos from the camp:  [nggallery id=48]

  1. Hi Michael, great insight into pro training in Mallorca, had a week in Puerto Pollensa a couple of years ago, did all the usual climbs, ate some fantastic cake! Winter training in the UK a little easier this year than last, what sort of structure do your training rides take? Keep up the great blogg.. Stu

  2. What about gloves? None of you, except Eisel in one shot, are wearing gloves. And it looks like it was slightly ‘brisk’, what with the long sleeves and tights. Even the motorcycle driver wasn’t wearing gloves. Are y’all crazy? Or just warm-hearted?

    1. Hi Patrick, It wasn’t that cold: 10-20 ℃. But, some of the Classics guys can handle the cold well, as they’ve developed their ‘hunter’s response’. Cheers, Michael

  3. Michael,

OK, but…. 20º C is alright, but here in Florida, 10º is long-finger glove weather for sure. Although I can see how those tough Belgian types would be up for it, to them I’m sure it’s a balmy spring day!
