In 2003, Charlie Bryer watched the UCI Road World Championships in Hamilton, Ontario. As a grade 10 hockey and soccer player, he didn’t know much about cycling.  However, watching Michael Barry attack the lead group on the final lap of the men’s road race wearing the classic team Canada kit, he knew it was a sport he wanted to try.  Charlie starting racing and quickly became fast.  He raced in Canada, Europe and the US for several years.

Fast forward almost two decades, and Charlie’s company, FRETORI is proudly the sales agency for Shimano Canada and in that role they work with Mariposa Bicycles.  When the GRX Limited groupset came out, this project was an indicator of life coming around full circle. This is a gravel bicycle, built by Michael Barry in Charlie’s hometown of Toronto, assembled with Shimano GRX LE, custom painted and fitted to be a bicycle for life.  What do you think of the build?
