The 5th Annual Growling Beaver Brevet, a tough gravel event that supports people with Parkinson’s by raising money for Brain Canada and The Davis Phinney Foundation was September 28th.

As always, it was a fun day on the bike…gravel, good food, beer, friends, rain and, finally, sunshine. The ride this year was particularly special as Tour de France stage winner, Davis Phinney and 1984 Olympic Gold medallist, Connie Carpenter Phinney rode and then spoke at the afterparty hosted at the Side Launch Brewery.  There were also several kids out on the course riding, getting muddy, and raising money for Parkinson’s. In all, the event raised $470,000, increasing the 5 year total to over $1.8 Million.

Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors and cyclists who participated. As a result of their generosity, 100% of all money raised will go to help people with Parkinson’s. Also, a big thank-you to many of our newsletter readers who supported the Mariposa team at the event!

We’d love for you to join us at the Growling Beaver in 2020.  Please mark you calendars for October 3, 2020.
