Last week, we were fortunate to have Clara Hughes attend our Morning Glory Cycling Club Grass Track program and provide a little extra inspiration to the kids as they tackled their time trials.

It’s our third year running the program, which has not only helped the kids (age 3-15) to build a strong foundation on the bike but has also helped build a healthy, active community of children and parents.

The program is open to 65 children for each spring and autumn session and many have been taking part since its inception in the Fall of 2014. They have been enthusiastic and keen to ride and, as a result, have become stronger and more skilled cyclists. Many have made cycling a part of their active, healthy lifestyle by commuting back and forth to school, camp, play dates, etc on their bikes. #onelesscar translates into a healthier world for us all.

As 2017 approaches, we have a group of youth who are ready to advance to the next level and race. Our goal for 2017 is to help these kids continue to progress and have fun on the bike.

It has taken a dedicated of volunteers to bring the program to the current level and to take it one step farther, we will need increased volunteer support and sponsors. If you would like to contribute on any level, please contact us at [email protected]
